Come and join us for an after-hours literary tour that will take participants on a poetic journey around Sir John Soane’s Museum. This is an opportunity for you to experience how the language of poetry animates Sir John’s home and his unique collection of casts, sculptures and paintings. Our guides will draw on the words of poets such as Byron and Shelley, who, like Sir John, were inspired by the romanticism of the ancient world’s ruins, fragments and myths.

This special tour will highlight rarely seen aspects of the houses, showcase ‘the poetry of architecture’ in Soane’s designs and feature the recitation of poems from across the centuries. We will also be showing participants rare books from Sir John Soane’s unique library.

Tours last around 60 minutes and are led by our expert guides. There are 15 places per tour. The tour will last from 6pm - 7pm.
