Events and Marketing Assistant TOP

The post holder plays an important part in generating and maintaining all revenue strands including reactive and proactive sales and marketing. A key element  is the planning, execution and follow up of events and tours and identifying new potential commercial partners.  The role also supports the Museum's communication function, liaising with internal stakeholders  and external suppliers and customers.  

You should be highly organised, with a passion for marketing and an understanding of the challenges and sensitivities of working in an historical environment where the primary function is not commercial.

Conservator - 2.5 days a week Monday, Tuesday and alternate Fridays TOP

The Museum has a small in-house conservation team working in well-equipped studios who are  responsible for both preventive and remedial conservation and major restoration projects. Between them they care for 5,000 works of art, 8,000 books and 30,000 drawings as well as the fabric of the Museum. Much of the care of the collection is carried out on Mondays and Tuesdays when the Museum is closed to visitors. The attached role profile specifies the skills and experience needed for the role of Conservator  but key will be knowledge of all aspects of conservation and collections care in an historic house and demonstrable skill and experience in carrying out practical conservation treatments.

Commercial Events Manager TOP

Building back events and venue hire post-pandemic is a strategic priority for SME and this role requires an ambitious, creative, experienced, and efficient events manager. The Commercial Events Manager is responsible for year-on-year growth in sales targets for the Museum’s commercial venue hire, tours and filming offer; the successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects from sales and marketing strategy to overseeing the managing and delivery of events – both external hires and internal promotions.

PA to Director and Office Manager TOP

This is a pivotal role within the organisation and involves working with all departments and senior members of staff including the Chair and Trustees. It provides a fantastic opportunity to work with a wonderful team in a unique National Museum.

The role requires excellent organisational, time management and communications skills to proactively deal with conflicting demands and to manage relationships with the appropriate degree of confidentiality, sensitivity and discretion. Enthusiasm for the Soane and familiarity with the Museum sector would be a significant advantage
