In this special Soane Late, organised by our Soane Youth Panel, you will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the young John Soane as he travelled through Europe on his Grand Tour.
Guided by Soane's own diary entries and original drawings not usually on display to the public, learn what it took for the aspiring young architect to break into the elite world of Regency architecture. Try your hand at architectural drawing in an interactive workshop and see the Museum in a new light. After your epic journey, ascend to our Roman taverna and take a selfie in our Grand Tour themed photo booth.
What to expect
- The whole Museum is yours to explore as you wander corridors lined by Sir John Soane’s books, sculptures, paintings and treasures.
- We encourage photography at these events. The Museum is at its most awe-inspiring after dark as its vast collections are bathed in shadow and illuminated by candlelight.
- Admission includes a Roman themed cocktail, glass of wine or prosecco in our South Drawing Room. A non-alcoholic option will be available for under 18s.
- Tickets available for arrival at either 18:00, 18:30, 19:30 or 20:00.
£25, or £10 for under 25s. Our Lates are often very popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
This event is organised by the Soane Youth Panel, a group of young people aged 15–24 who help the Museum shape the activities, events and opportunities it offers.
