As part of this year’s Open House Festival, you are invited to go behind the scenes of the Museum at No. 14 Lincoln’s Inn Fields.
Join us to explore the third of Sir John Soane’s houses on Lincoln’s Inn Fields. Not generally open to the public, No.14 Lincoln’s Inn Fields was bought by Sir John Soane in 1823. The original house was torn down and rebuilt to Soane’s design in order to extend his Museum even further, creating his celebrated Picture Room at the back of the house whilst the front was rented out. Although the front of the house passed into private hands after Soane's death, this beautiful building was fully incorporated into Sir John Soane’s Museum in 1996. Today, it serves many important purposes, including housing our Library and Adam Study Centre, as well as being another stunning example of the architect’s signature style.
Visitors will be able to see the Research Library and Adam Study Centre at No.14 and view architectural drawings and models from Soane’s collection not normally on display to the public.
There’s no need to pre-book - just pop in!
Please note that if you would also like to visit the Museum, you will need to join the queue outside Number 13 Lincoln's Inn Fields.
