The Museum welcomes visitors with disabilities and our staff do everything practical and reasonable to provide visitors with a positive experience.
However, access to the building can be complicated as the Museum is Grade I listed and largely unaltered since the 19th century.
Disabled visitors are strongly encouraged to contact the Museum in advance whenever possible to ensure that staff and, if required, resources such as lifts and wheelchairs, are available.
Please note: From 17 August 2015 there will be no step-free access to the ground floor of the Museum while we carry out major restoration works. Once completed in summer 2016, the Museum will have full step-free access for the first time. Please contact the number below for further information on your visit.
There is detailed contact information on all pages below but if you are visiting the Museum today and need immediate advice, please ring 020 7405 2107
The Museum is advised on accessibility by a volunteer panel called the Publicity and Access Consultative Team (PACT) please click here for more information.
