Volunteer Warders
An exciting opportunity for you to get involved in the work of the Sir John Soane’s Museum and become an integral part of our team. Working alongside knowledgeable and experienced members of museum staff, you will be responsible for key front-of-house activities and providing visitors with a warm welcome to the Soane Museum. Retail Volunteer
We are seeking a volunteer to assist in the day-to-day running of the Sir John Soane’s Museum shop. This role would be perfect for someone who has a strong customer service ethic, a friendly and confident manner and is comfortable with cash handling and learning to operate a till. Curatorial Placements
Our curatorial volunteer programme is intended for young people who seriously intend to take up a career in museums. In order to gain a good working knowledge of the Museum we try to provide a balanced programme of work which includes curatorial projects as well as routine tasks that make a real contribution to the Museum. Museum Education Placements
The Museum offers 4-month placements in the Education Department, for graduates who have decided to pursue a career in Museum Education. The placements have been filled for the forthcoming academic year. Information will appear here when we are ready to invite applications for future placements.
Work Experience Placements
We offer a limited number of work experience placements throughout the year; our main focus is towards year 10 students from inner London schools. Students should be interested in architecture, history and works of art and will ideally be someone intending to do a degree and considering a future career in museums.
