Group visits are a great way to discover the collections and spaces of Sir John Soane's Museum. On this page, you'll find information on visiting the Museum as a group, including group tours and visits for non profits, schools and universities.

Group Visits for non-profits and cultural organisations

Groups of 8 to 20 people from not-for-profit educational or cultural organisations are very welcome to visit the Soane Museum.

Booking is essential. Group visit slots are available on Fridays at 10:00, 14:00, and 15:30. Visits are free, but as a charity we’d really appreciate a donation to support our work.

Please note that external guides are not permitted inside the Museum. You can request an introductory talk by one of our expert guides for £75.

Book your group visit here, or send your enquiry to our Head of Operations Markand Patel via mpatel@soane.org.uk.

Higher Education groups

We can offer alternative times for Higher Education groups if the group booking slots are not a possibility for your timetable. These are subject to availability. For enquiries, please contact mpatel@soane.org.uk.

Higher Education groups can pre-arrange teaching sessions in the Museum's research library as part of their group visit. These can be pre-arranged on available Friday afternoons any time between 14:00 and 17:00. To arrange a library session, book a group visit, and then email Frances Sands, Curator of Drawings and Books, at fsands@soane.org.uk in order to discuss the feasibility and content of the session. Library group numbers are limited to 12. Suggested minimum donation of £50.

Private Tours

Groups can book private tours of the Museum, with exclusive access to one of our expert guides.
