Join our friends Space Popular for a live performance of The Portal Galleries and discover the stories behind the magic and mechanics of virtual travel in a vast mixed reality stage.

The Portal Galleries is an extraordinary research project documenting nearly a thousand magical portals found in popular sci-fi and fantasy films, books, graphic novels, and games over the past 150 years, articulated through two unique VR films.

The performance will be part of the V&A's September Late, Transformation Station, themed to coincide with London Design Festival and Digital Design Weekend. The evening is free to attend with no need to pre-book.

The full exhibition Space Popular: The Portal Galleries is currently on show at the Soane until September 25th.
