An Introduction to the Soane Supporters' Circle

In 2005 the Museum launched a new scheme - the Soane Supporters' Circle - an exciting initiative to give visitors and supporters of the Museum an opportunity to help us with the important work we do caring for Soane's house and keeping this fascinating collection just as Soane left it. You can become a member of the Soane Supporters' Circle for as little as £30 a year.

The Museum regularly receives small donations from visitors and supporters, but these tend to be quite sporadic and the amount given can vary greatly - making them an unpredictable source of income for the Museum.

The Supporters' Circle is intended to allow us to generate donations in such a way that they will become a more reliable and substantial type of income for the Museum than they have been previously, and which will go towards helping us carry out our important work in conservation (e.g. treating an architectural fragment), education (running workshops for schoolchildren) and restoration (towards the building work at No.14 Lincoln's Inn Fields).

We currently do not have the opportunity to thank those people who do make a donation, or of keeping our donors up to date with the Museum's latest activities and how their support has helped the Museum - as I know many of them wish we could do. Members of the Soane Supporters' Circle will therefore receive the Soane Newsletter three times a year as a way in which we can keep in contact with our Supporters. In the past, this Newsletter has been sent free to all those who have requested it, eventually it will only be sent to members of the Supporters' Circle and other donors.

I hope therefore, that you will develop your involvement with the Museum by becoming a member of the Supporters' Circle, when we will be able to keep you informed of all the latest news about the Museum and give you special advanced notice of our annual series of lectures.
