The iconic K2 telephone box was designed by the architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. At the time of designing the K2, Scott was a trustee of Sir John Soane's Museum and his design for the competition was in the classical style and topped with a dome inspired by Soane's self-designed mausoleums in St Pancras, Old Churchyard. This dome was a signature feature of much of Sir John Soane’s architecture.
