This catalogue was produced for the ‘Artists at the Hustings’ exhibition and details Hogarth’s masterpiece of 18th century political satire ‘The Humours of an Election ’. It details every aspect of Hogarth’s series of four paintings that tell the tail of a notoriously corrupt parliamentary election in Oxfordshire in 1754. It gives each painting their historical context and examines their impact on modern satirical work. Foreword by Ian Hislop
