This unique greeting card features the art of William Hogarth with the piece “The Five orders of PERRIWIGS". Published in 1761 as an etching the work satirizes both fashion and scholarship. Produced soon after the coronation of George III, this print links the cult of Vitruvius, which deduced laws of composition and canons of beauty from the measurements of ancient columns or statues, with the preposterous hairdos of the beau monde, parodied in a typically Hogarthian fashion. Dimensions: 19.5x15cm
