Cult artist, Charlotte Cory, of the Green Parrot Gallery, was commissioned to create a range of her highly unusual wares exclusively for Sir John Soane’s Museum. This mounted print is limited to only 25 editions, numbered and signed, and features the stunning staircase of the Museum as a backdrop to one of her idiosyncratic ‘character’ creations.
Fascinated by the iconography of early photography, she recycles Victorian cartes de visite, and her own pictures of stuffed animals, to create a whole post-Darwinian 19th century in which the animals were clearly in charge.
Beautifully presented in brown monogrammed box, size 35.5 x 24 cms
Print size 26 x 18.5 cms excluding mount, 40 x 30cms including mount
