Henry Hudson – Limited Edition Etching

Available to order

This limited edition etching is printed on woven paper and created to celebrate the display at Sir John Soane's Museum of a selection of Henry Hudson’s large-scale 'paintings' in plasticine of William Hogarth’s A Rake’s Progress Henry Hudson has created just 30 of these etchings by the traditional method as used from the 15th Century. They will be available for a limited period only.

Henry Hudson became fascinated by Hogarth as a student at Central St Martins, admiring the satirical cruelty of his work as well as its humour. As part of his exploration of Hogarthian themes in Britain’s modern psyche, Hudson began working on his own version of A Rake’s Progress nearly two years ago in his London studio, next to where Hogarth was born.

Henry Hudson is an emerging young artist at the very beginning of his career and very much following in the footsteps of the 'YBAs'. He has been described by Richard Dorment, art critic at The Daily Telegraph, as 'a remarkable young painter ', has already exhibited internationally and at several London galleries, including a solo show at the Trolley gallery.

Dimensions: 37cm x 57cm.

Free postage and packaging on all orders.

‘CATCH KITTY’ Limited Edition Print
‘CATCH KITTY’ Limited Edition Print

Cult artist, Charlotte Cory, of the Green Parrot Gallery, was commissioned to create a range of her highly unusual wares exclusively for Sir John Soane’s Museum. This mounted print is limited to only 25 editions, numbered and signed, and features the stunning staircase of the Museum as a backdrop to one of her idiosyncratic ‘character’ creations.

Fascinated by the iconography of early photography, she recycles Victorian cartes de visite, and her own pictures of stuffed animals, to create a whole post-Darwinian 19th century in which the animals were clearly in charge.

Beautifully presented in brown monogrammed box, size 35.5 x 24 cms

Print size 26 x 18.5 cms excluding mount, 40 x 30cms including mount
