One sunny morning Sir John decided to go on a holiday to learn more about fossils in Egypt and get some with his dog called Fanny.
Sir John loved Fanny very much. It was very hard for him because his wife died in 1413.
So they went to Egypt and they found a place to dig and they digged.
Soane found a fossil. He
took the fossil back to his house and he put it up in the garden.
