A Renaissance Enigma: Art and Fantasy at an Italian Court
24 April - 12 September 1998
The North Italian Album in the collection of Sir John Soane's Museum is a unique work of the Italian Renaissance and features 68 designs for architecture, furniture, stage sets and decorative objects.
The designs, produced as brightly-coloured drawings on vellum, will be disbound from their album for the exhibition so that they can be displayed side by side for the first time.
A Renaissance Enigma: Art and Fantasy at an Italian Court will mark the publication of Sir John Soane's Museum: The Catalogue of the Italian Renaissance Drawings.
