Architectural Drawing 15-18

A Six-Session Course, One Saturday Per Month, 11:00am-3:00pm | £100

This course uses some of London's best buildings to introduce and explore the art of architectural drawing and sketching. Over six sessions students will draw using a variety of scales and media, working from townscape and panoramic views, interiors and concluding with a look at the representation and techniques of architectural detailing. Students will also gain an insight into the arc of London's development through the different buildings visited during these sessions and discover how different drawing techniques fire different architectural approaches.

This course is suitable for students aged 15-18. It is ideal for students currently studying Art and Design, and is particularly relevant for those wishing to pursue Architecture at Higher Education level.

The course will be led by architect, draftsman and architecture lecturer Benedict O'Looney (M.Arch RIBA). Benedict runs a practice closely involved with the regeneration of Peckham Town centre. Prior to that he was an architect working with Nicholas Grimshaw and Will Alsop. Benedict is a former president of the London Sketch Club, and the chair of Southwark's Conservation Areas Advisory group.
