Soane Museum Summer School: A Royal Academy Portfolio

The Summer School is suitable for anyone looking to extend their skills and knowledge over a full and exciting week-long course.

This year the Summer School will focus of the process of painting derived from the writings of Soane’s contemporaries at the Royal Academy including Sir Joshua Reynolds, Turner and Fuseli. This intense week will take themes from the Museum and the Royal Academy and explore ways to build up drawings and paintings in different media. On Monday begin the week drawing in the Museum to start your portfolio. A day will be spent at the Royal Academy in Piccadilly where you will explore the Cast Corridor and Life Room as well as the outside architecture of the building. From preliminary studies, colour compositions and visits to see works not normally on display, build your portfolio and join us for an exciting and creative week. James Willis and Jacqueline Watt
