Soane Summer School
Soane Summer School: The French Influence
Monday 21 July – Friday 25 July | £250 |
The Summer School is a friendly yet intensely creative week suitable for all levels of art experience and interest. This year’s Summer School takes our exhibition Amusements and Luxurious Gratification: The British in Paris in 1814, as a starting point for exploring the impact of French art and culture on Regency Britain. During the week you will build up a portfolio full of inspired drawings and paintings, starting with a look at French design and style and continuing with an investigation into the effect of Parisian architecture on Soane and his contemporaries. This course includes a rare opportunity to work in the Museum when it is closed to the public and to see parts of the collection not normally on public display.
